Do you want to get into Quantum Computing? This is the correct, perfect list of books you have to read, in order. Your mind will explode anyways, but at least it will be one neuron at a time. (This list can be complemented by online materials!).
The reason to read them in this order is because you start with the why (complexity theory), then you go into quantum for programmers. A nice intro to the basic algorithms without the algebra. Then you jump straight into reality. It is important to know the basics of what is inside and that’s why the Mike&Ike is so important. I always recommend also the “Theoretical Minimum” book because it is a decent intro for the non-physicists. Coecke’s “Picturing quantum process” is fantastic to build intuition and get a new angle (literally) at quantum processes (by bye Dirac!) And then Peres and Mermin complete the pack with their great demonstrations (and Mermin games). Lastly Witteks intro to QML provides a great into to classical ML and its quantum counterpart.
Now, this is not the only list. But the one that works for me. Either way those books are fantastic reads and provide hours of reading, studying and problem solving. (And if you are lazy, go all the way to the end of the page, I have a suprise for you)
As promised, solutions for the Mike&Ike book!
